'CREATION IS MY VITAL NEED; STYLE IS MY LANGUAGE.'
HANDS OF OIZO was founded by French fashion designer Blandine Boudet.
She was born a designer. Fascinated since ever by style and clothing, she grew up with a pencil in her hand.
She re-drew the History of Costume from an early age, feeding her inspiration through illustrated books, paintings, museums and cinema. Oftentimes dressing up with vintage pieces from her mother's closet and rummaging about in the family relics trunks. As a child, she started creating clothes from paper and sticky tape, from textile and staples; then in her teenage years she hastened to learn sewing.
Hands-on, she works through the whole process, from idea to finished product.
Fashion is her sociology: an open window to the diversity of the world: periods, people, personalities…

Graduated from LISAA Paris (The Superior Institute of Applied Arts) in fashion design & pattern-making in 2002, she worked for around ten years in a renowned Trends Forecasting agency in Paris – providing consultancy for international women's fashion brands, analysing society, imagining the fashions of tomorrow, setting trends and identifying innovations.
In addition to collections design, she extended her experience for two years to branding and art direction for international brands.
Shaped by these experiences in concept, design and marketing, she finally felt the need to get back in touch with her first love - manual work, and develop her own style inspirations.

Several trips to Indonesia provided the vital spark. Seduced by its inspiring creative energy and its handcrafts wealth, she decided to settle in Bali and work on a new innovative brand, which would combine her specific expertise with the tradition of Indonesian leather crafts.
In 2014 she set the creative studio of HANDS OF OIZO, where she imagines, designs and produces her collections with the help of expert leather craftsmen.
